2. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the RIK website, content, and services (the Services). The Services are designed for adult learners. • Invited specialists contribute as experts within their fields; they do not provide clinical or individualized professional services through the platform.

Course availability, format, duration, and pricing are displayed during enrollment. Taxes may apply in accordance with applicable law. By submitting an enrollment request, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the right to use the chosen payment method. Access to course materials may begin only after successful processing of your enrollment.

8. Cancellations and refunds

Where a cancellation or refund option is offered, the applicable conditions and timelines will be stated during enrollment or in the course information. We reserve the right to cancel a course or session if necessary (for example, due to insufficient enrollment or technical issues). In such cases, we will provide options such as rescheduling or a refund where appropriate.

9. Intellectual property

The Services, including all text, graphics, logos, icons, images, videos, audio, course materials, and software, are owned by or licensed to RIK and are protected by intellectual property laws. Except where expressly permitted in writing, you may not reproduce, distribute, publicly display, create derivative works from, or otherwise use the materials beyond your personal, non-commercial learning.

10. User content

If you submit comments, assignments, or other content, you grant RIK a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display that content solely for operating and improving the Services, and for providing you with course-related functionality. You represent that you have all necessary rights to grant this license and that your content does not infringe any third-party rights.

11. Third-party services

The Services may integrate third-party tools (for example, video conferencing, analytics, or payment processing). Your use of any third-party service is subject to that provider’s terms and policies. RIK is not responsible for third-party services and does not control their performance, security, or availability.

13. No warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RIK and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, and invited specialists shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or anticipated savings, arising from or related to your use of the Services. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, it shall be limited to the amount you paid to RIK for the relevant course giving rise to the claim.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RIK and its personnel from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Services, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.

16. Changes to the Services and to these Terms

We may update or modify the Services at any time, including adding or removing features. We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of the Netherlands shall have exclusive jurisdiction, and proceedings may be brought in Haarlem, the Netherlands. If you are a consumer, you may have mandatory rights under your local consumer laws; these Terms do not limit such rights.
